MARTIN AUDIO SXC118 Subwoofer
Specification
Description
Designed for tours and installations, MARTIN AUDIO SXC118 is a compact, high-performance cardioid subwoofer. It features a forward-facing 18-inch driver and a rear-facing 14-inch driver. Each is independently controlled by different amplifier channels and DSP.
Each driver has its own compartment with optimized phase inverters. This design creates cardioid dispersion, maximizing front radiation and reducing unwanted radiation behind the subwoofer.
The recommended amplifier iK42 optimizes DSP settings for the front and rear drivers to maximize rear cancellation — from 21 dB at 43 Hz to 28 dB at 75 Hz. This keeps low frequencies away from stages, performers, and walls, while also reducing reverberant energy in the room, significantly improving the accuracy and impact of the system's low frequencies.
On the front panel of the enclosure, the outputs of the two drivers are summed, providing an additional 2 dB compared to a conventional 18-inch subwoofer.
The enclosure is made of plywood and coated with durable textured paint. It features 4 handles and a perforated steel grille with foam to protect the front and rear drivers. The subwoofer can be set up separately, stacked, or suspended.
MARTIN AUDIO SXC118 is ideal for use with WPM and WPS line arrays or with the range of point source loudspeakers where low-frequency control is required. Special mounting brackets prevent movement when stacked, and a threaded plate on the top panel makes it easy to mount up to 4 WPM on a stand or one point source loudspeaker. SXC118 is supplied as standard without wheels, but they can be purchased as an accessory.
With a protective cover for the connectors, the subwoofer MARTIN AUDIO SXC118 is fully weather-resistant and suitable for permanent outdoor use.
