EVH 5150 ICONIC SERIES 80W HEAD BLACK Guitar Amplifier

The EVH 5150 Iconic series will meet the needs of performing and session guitarists who seek the powerful EVH tube tone but in a more accessible format. Built on the foundation of the revered EVH 5150III amplifiers, it delivers the hard sound and aggressive gain that Eddie Van Halen popularized throughout his revolutionary career.

Designed by renowned engineer James Brown, the head-format amplifier EVH 5150 ICONIC SERIES 80W HEAD BLACK is equipped with four 6L6 output tubes and voiced with two ECC83 preamp tubes, providing all the necessary power for modern guitarists.

This “head” features 2 channels with additional voicings on each for even greater versatility. The Green channel boasts an Overdrive button for transitioning from juicy clean tones to increased gain, while the Burn button on the Red channel adds fiery crunch, perfect for blazing solos.

Each channel has gain and volume controls, allowing you to balance the volume when switching between clean and high-gain channels. The fast attack of the noise gate on the second channel suppresses any hiss, ensuring that all staccato riffs are precise and clear. The Boost control allows you to add an additional 10 dB of switchable volume, perfect for ensuring your solos cut through. The control panel also includes a 3-band equalizer (Low, Mid and High), overall Resonance and Presence controls for tuning low and high frequencies, and an overall Reverb control to add the right amount of splash and decay for any room.

Other features of the EVH 5150 ICONIC SERIES 80W HEAD BLACK include a 2-button footswitch, effects loop, 2 parallel speaker outputs, a power switch for reducing wattage, allowing you to play with great sound without disturbing the neighbors, as well as an emulated DI XLR output with Power Amp Mute function for accurate EVH tube tone during direct recording or through any sound system.

The 5150 ICONIC SERIES 80W HEAD BLACK is crafted in the refined and expressive EVH style: textured black vinyl, a matte aluminum front panel, and a black steel grille with silver and black 5150 and EVH logos. The amplifier is adorned with vintage chicken head knobs, a red LED indicator, and a molded black plastic top handle.
