MARTIN AUDIO WPC Acoustic System
Specification
Description
The MARTIN AUDIO WPC acoustic system is a new generation of optimized medium-format line arrays that provide innovative acoustic design, ultra-high performance, and stable coverage, making them suitable for a wider range of users and applications. The three-way bi-amped system features horns for LF, MF, and HF for increased efficiency. With a peak sound pressure level of 135 dB, the MARTIN AUDIO WPC can match or exceed larger direct radiating systems — a 12-element array covers over 60 m and is suitable for venues with 5000 seats, while significantly saving space.
The acoustic system has neodymium LF drivers 2 x 10" (250 mm) in a Hybrid configuration that combines the advantages of horn and reflex design. Each driver is housed in a short horn to ensure high sensitivity, while the rear of the driver features a reflex design to extend LF power.
The MF and HF horns are physically separated — this is a key factor in the MARTIN AUDIO WPC, achieving first-class horizontal dispersion at 100°. The MF horn design uses neodymium drivers 2 x 5" (125 mm) for high power, and the HF section uses neodymium compression drivers 4 x 0.7" (19 mm), which feed 4 separate horns. The use of multiple small HF drivers instead of a traditional large compression driver results in less distortion and a more extended HF response.
