According to Ola, the inspiration for S by Solar came from thinking about the options available to beginners when he was young and how they could be updated to meet the needs of a new generation.
“When I started Solar Guitars, I had advanced and professional players in mind,” says Englund. “Now I’m going back to my younger days, thinking about what instruments were available to beginners when I was starting out and what can be designed and manufactured today.”
“Everything we have learned at Solar Guitars has enabled us to create affordable guitars that young people and beginning musicians will appreciate, with the goal of putting the right instruments in your hands from day one.”
The bodies are made of poplar, the necks of maple, and each instrument has 24 or 22 nickel frets with a Black Techwood fingerboard. Finish options include Carbon Matte Black and White Matte, while SB models feature a Flame Blue or Flame Red maple top. SB models are also equipped with a Floyd Rose tremolo (the other models have a hardtail bridge), and the high-output ceramic pickups used across all models deliver “power and midrange to cut through any mix.”
Type AB is the core standard model from S by Solar. A dependable workhorse that will serve you throughout your musical career. It is an instrument that will help you explore new horizons on your musical journey, offering powerful sound, comfortable playability and signature Solar pickups. Type AB models are available as standard six-string versions, in a compact 3/4 format, in left-handed configurations, with Floyd Rose tremolo systems, and as seven-string versions. AB has everything you need to make a confident statement in the world of metal!
